An FTP site is a computer that contains files that are available for FTP transfer. These sites contain a many different file types including video, audio, graphics, and text files.

Most files are available at no cost. However some are shareware which is software you can download and try for free. But you must pay a licensing fee if you decide to keep and use the software.

Before you can use or view FTP files, you must first download these files to your PC. These files could be compressed to reduce download time and storage space. You must decompress a compressed file before you can use it.
